“BANKSY CANVAS SHREDDED at SOTHEBY’S AUCTION IN LONDON
I find this article so smart & just sharing this amazing illustrations with you - These stars just show us how
Halle Berry The Oscar-winning actress is a true earth angel — or she was this day. She joined the masses and posed by artist Colette Miller’s colorful wings, part of the Global Angel Wings Project, in the Beverly Grove section of L.A. (Miller’s wings are in several cities around the world.) All Halle needed was a halo to complete this celestial look. (Photo:Instagram)
Jennifer Lopez We’re not mind readers, but it seemed pretty clear that J.Lo was sending a message when she posed with this “Protect Yo Heart” sidewalk stamp while on location in NYC for Shades of Blue. Just days before, she had broken up with Casper Smart. Again. (Photo: Instagram)
Zendaya This very topical sidewalk stamp made the K.C. Undercover actress stop in her tracks. “Nothing realer than the streets of New York,” the young role model wrote along with the hashtag “#blacklivesmatter.” (Photo: Instagram)
Vanessa Hudgens The Grease: Live star showed her appreciation for the late, great David Bowie by striking a solemn pose next to a Ziggy Stardust mural outside the now-shuttered Graffiti Room restaurant in NYC. When the music great passed, Hudgens wrote on social media, “I am so sad. Talk about a man with a legacy that will never die. You’ll always be my goblin king.“ Clearly. (Photo: Instagram)
Taylor Swift The year the singer moved to the Big Apple, back in 2014, she shared this photo, writing, “Finding wings in New York City.” Kelsey Montague is the artist behind the black and white mural called “What Lifts You Up.” Heavenly. (Photo: Twitter)
Beyoncé We’ll give you one guess where Queen Bey was when this photo was taken. (Photo: I AM BEYONCE)
January Jones “Take that, Banksy!” the Last Man on Earth actress captioned this photo of a baby blue “#sidewalkchalk” heart she found on a brick wall. All you need is love — and great shades. Great shades are very important. (Photo: Instagram)
Ivanka Trump Speaking of Banksy, Ivanka captioned this shot, “Watch out Arabella, #Banksy is going to get you!” No children were injured in the making of this photo. (Photo: The Art of Ivanka Trump)
Michelle Monaghan “Just trying to blend in,” The Path actress wrote. Mission accomplished. (Photo: Instagram)
Elizabeth Banks The Hunger Games star travels in the same circle as Halle Berry — at least when it comes to posing with local street art in L.A. Banks visited the same Colette Miller installation, writing, “It’s pretty hard to just walk on by when these are calling to you.” Additional fun fact: The photo was snapped by one of her own angels, her 5-year-old son, Felix. Street Art Restoration Treasures Of A Tower In Paris - France
An exhibition of the temporary gallery will be held from October 1 to 31, 2013. This is the first time such place opens its doors to the public in Paris.
More than one hundred artists from around the world have spent seven months creating a temporary contemporary art gallery from the ground floor to the penthouse of a 10-floor building in Paris 13. Artists from eighteen countries (from the United States, the Middle East and Latina America) have volunteered in the making of these unusual artistic creations. Each artist has involved into this challenging adventure by expressing its own culture. The public has a last chance to visit the artwork before the building planned demolition. The building demolition will be the outcome of the performance. It will be conducted in collusion with a specialized company. The demolition will be recorded by film director Thomas Lallier and will be shown on the website tourparis13.fr.
“The destruction is part of the adventure,” Mehdi Ben Cheikh.
image-1) The neon facade of the building could be seen from the Bercy bridge over the Seine river without any idea of what lies behind its walls.
image-2) Going down from the penthouse for a free path in the maze of the tower. A painting of two oversized women’s faces plays with the rays of light passing through the windows of the old apartment. Andrea Michaelsson aka Btoy from Spain conducted the design of the living room and the bathroom on the 8th floor.
image-3) In their temporary installations, many artists such as Brazilian FLIP integrate into things left behind by the former tenants, reminding of a whole jumble of memories.
iimage-4) The French artist Sambre creates disorientation by using a tangle of unstructured doors to change the perspective in a narrow corridor.
image-5) This building has 36 apartments which gives the street artists involved in this project enough room to express their creativity; “using a wide range of new media to both express their inspiration and meet their artistic expectations” (Mehdi Ben Cheikh - Installation JB ROCK).
image-6) Installations play with Day light, as shown by this richly colored face painted by the Colombian artist Stinkfish which seems bothered by the rays of light beam shinning through the window into one of the 4th floor rooms.
image-7) The French “light painting” artist Marko Gilbert showcases the effect of neon fluorescent light by painting neon monsters on the walls to light up one of the 3rd floor living rooms.
image-8) Contemporary Installation by David Walker. Ongoing development in this area of Paris…
image-9) The walls become artwork and the buildings that we hardly dared to look at are visited by tourists… that’s the street art…
image-10) Installation by Mosko and his partners.
