And while we are on the topic of France, here’s another French word: cliché. As in, I need something about France for Bastille day so here is yet another image from Gazette du bon ton.
I guess I could find better clichés than this lovely trocolore bouquet (the tricolore being the nickname for the flag of France) from tome 2 of the 1914 Gazette du bon ton.
See all things France in our digital library, including art, aeronautics, fashion, children’s books, and, alas, colonialism :/
Un bon 14 Juillet à toutes les Françaises, tous les Français et mêmes aux Francophiles! Happy Bastille’s Day to all the French and Francophiles! :)
Remember that Bastille’s Day commemorates the break of the prison La Bastille by the French revolutionaries and celebrates the anniversary of the French Revolution. :)
